Installing on macOS
Requires macOS 12 Monterey or later.
Option A: Installer (Recommended)
Download
Head to the Downloads page and grab the macOS installer for your Mac:
- Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4):
SemanticModeler-osx-Setup.pkg - Intel:
SemanticModeler-osx-intel-Setup.pkg
Not sure which you have? Click the Apple menu () > About This Mac. If the Chip line says "Apple M1" or similar, you have Apple Silicon. If it says "Intel," use the Intel version.
Install
- Open the
.pkgfile. - Follow the installer prompts.
- Semantic Modeler is installed to
/Applications/Semantic Modeler.app.
Tip
You can verify your download by comparing the SHA-256 hash on the Downloads page:
shasum -a 256 SemanticModeler-osx*.pkg
Updates
Semantic Modeler checks for updates automatically in the background. When an update is ready, it's applied the next time you launch the app.
Uninstall
Drag Semantic Modeler.app from /Applications to the Trash.
Option B: Portable
The portable version runs without installing. Useful if you want to keep it on an external drive or prefer not to install system-wide.
Download
Head to the Downloads page and grab the portable archive for your Mac:
- Apple Silicon:
SemanticModeler-osx-Portable.zip - Intel:
SemanticModeler-osx-intel-Portable.zip
Install
- Extract the
.zip(double-click it in Finder). - Drag
Semantic Modeler.appto any folder (e.g.,/Applicationsor your Desktop). - Open the app.
Updates
The portable version does not update automatically. Download the latest portable archive from the Downloads page to update.
