macOS Gatekeeper (Beta Only)
Note
This is a known issue during the beta period. We are working on getting the app notarized by Apple, which will eliminate this warning in a future release.
macOS may block the app from opening the first time with a message like:
"Semantic Modeler" can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software.
Here's how to get past it:
Option A: System Settings (easiest)
- Open System Settings > Privacy & Security.
- Scroll down. You'll see a message that Semantic Modeler was blocked.
- Click Open Anyway and enter your password.
Option B: Right-click
- Find Semantic Modeler in
/Applications. - Right-click (or Control-click) and choose Open.
- Click Open in the dialog that appears.
Option C: Terminal
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Semantic\ Modeler.app
After the first launch, the app opens normally without any warnings.
Tip
You can verify your download by comparing the SHA-256 hash on the Downloads page:
shasum -a 256 SemanticModeler-*.pkg
Updates
Semantic Modeler checks for updates automatically in the background. When an update is ready, it's applied the next time you launch the app.
Uninstall
Drag Semantic Modeler.app from /Applications to the Trash.
