Projects

Projects let you save and restore your workspace. A project remembers which models you have open, your diagram layout, zoom level, and which panels are visible, so you can switch between different work contexts without losing your place.

To manage projects, click the Projects icon in the activity bar.

What You Can Do

  • Create a project from your current workspace state
  • Switch between projects by clicking their name
  • Rename or delete a project by right-clicking it
  • Reorder projects using the reorder toggle

The active project name appears at the top of the sidebar.

Folder-Based Projects

You can also create a project from a folder. When you do, Semantic Modeler scans the folder for model files (.bim, TMDL folders, .sln, .slnx) and shows them as a file tree you can browse. This is useful for monorepos or solutions that contain multiple models.

Multiple Models

You can have multiple models open at the same time. Each appears as a separate tab in the main area. Your project remembers all of them, so switching projects restores the full set of models you had open.
