Settings: Logging

The Logging tab controls what Semantic Modeler records for diagnostics and troubleshooting.

AI Activity Log

The AI Activity Log records the exact request and response for AI calls made with your own provider (BYOK) or a local model. This lets you see exactly what schema metadata was sent and what the AI returned.

Note

The AI Activity Log only captures calls made through BYOK or local providers - not calls through FactFoundry Hosted. The log stays on your machine and is never sent to FactFoundry.

Capture AI Activity

Toggle this on to record BYOK and local AI requests and responses. Turn it off if you prefer not to hold prompts in memory.

View AI Activity Log

Click View AI Log to see exactly what was sent to and returned by your AI provider. Useful for verifying what data leaves your machine or for debugging unexpected AI responses.

Debug Logging

Enable Debug Logging

Toggle this on to collect debug logs for troubleshooting. Warnings and errors are always captured regardless of this setting.

Detailed Logging

When enabled, info-level and debug-level entries appear in the log viewer. With this off, only warnings and errors are shown.

View Debug Logs

Click View Logs to open the built-in log viewer.

Upload Debug Logs

Click Upload Logs to send your logs to FactFoundry support. You'll receive a reference code to include when contacting support about an issue.

Telemetry

Send Telemetry to Fact Foundry LLC controls whether anonymous usage data is sent to help improve Semantic Modeler. This data includes only app interactions (clicks, feature usage, and the platform/version you are running) - no data about your semantic models, servers, or data is collected.
