License Types

Semantic Modeler offers several license types depending on your needs. All types include every core application feature. The differences are in machine limits, authentication options, and AI access.

AI Add-on

All license types include BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) AI at no extra cost. Connect your own API key from Anthropic, OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Ollama, LM Studio, or any compatible provider.

If you don't have your own AI provider, the AI Add-on gives you hosted AI features through Fact Foundry's proxy with no configuration required. The AI Add-on is available for any license type.

Note

With hosted AI, your data never trains AI models. This is a contractual guarantee through the Anthropic commercial API.

Machine Activations

Each license type has a limit on how many machines can be active at the same time:

• Personal: 2 machines
• Professional: 3 machines
• Commercial: 1 machine per purchased seat

If you need to move to a new machine, deactivate the old one first to free up the seat.

Over-Seat-Limit (Commercial)

If a commercial organization has more active machines than purchased seats, those machines continue to work. Nothing is blocked. The organization's license manager receives a notification to either purchase additional seats or deactivate unused machines.
